The Leaky Brain Sings “Silent Night”
Hi Everyone,
I was thinking about all of you and wondering how to share the Christmas spirit with you. Then I remembered that I have a beautiful voice. So this is me performing “Silent Night,” the most touching and beautiful of all the Christmas carols. Sure, I may not know all the words, but the point is that I’m it’s beautiful.
A lot of people think I sound like Christina Aguilera when I sing, but I know I’m better.
Enjoy and have a good holiday.

Haha how awesome. Your voice is just so overwhelmingly perfect…*tear* The way you sing Silent Night really expresses how comforting Christmas truly is.
Happy Holidays

Definitely better than Christina Aguilera, I was thinking more like Diana Ross. Are you heading over to the next American Idol audition?

I love that it’s a tribute sung to a a video of a sideways polaroid, I hope you were under the influence of copious amounts of Nog.

wow, barclay, your skills never cease to amaze me.
December 23, 2007 at 10:12 pm
LOL There goe my eardrums again… BTW that was beautiful… If the babies aren’t crying, I certainly am…
December 23, 2007 at 11:52 pm
Wow, I am just so touched at how much you care for your readers… it’s just… my God, I think I’m going to cry. And why is your Christmas tree sideways? What kind of strange parallel universe do you live in?
And Merry Christmas! Have a safe holiday, too.
December 24, 2007 at 2:21 am
That was beautiful. Are you available for bar mitzvahs?
December 24, 2007 at 3:37 am
Dude. I need some of what ever you’re on. And make it a double.

Now I know why Santa comes only once a year!

What a classic. I expect “The Leaky Brain Sings Christmas Love Songs of the 90’s” to be airing on iTunes in the near future, as a special “thank you” to all your loyal fans. I would definitely buy one for my special someone.

That’s the best cinematic trailer to the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie I’ve ever seen OR heard.
Seriously, Leaky that was…uh…that was….something else.
Someone get me a rabbi. I’m converting.
You so funny!
Happy merry again,
LK

I think that just echoed back 2,000 years and caused Jesus to be stillborn.

I can’t stop laughing!!! Please reserve some concert tickets for me– I want front row seats!
Have a fantastic Christmas!
December 24, 2007 at 8:11 pm
Well Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate you crazy kid. Hope you get everything you ask for–including coal if you’ve been a bad girl. Wait, don’t answer that.
December 24, 2007 at 9:40 pm
First of all, LMAO at thebarefoot’s comment…
And secondly, I saw that you posted this yesterday, but I was waiting till today to “unwrap” it…call it my Christmas present from you to me
And on that note: ohhhhh Holy Baby Jesus…hahaha…SO good! I love your enunciation; it’s what separates you from the Hannah Montanas of the world
…the whole time I just felt the Christmas magic you know? Like each of your singing notes was scorching me to the bone (but in a good way
).
Have a very Merry Christmas B; it’s been a pleasure getting to know you in the blogosphere, and I look foward to your brain leaking even more in ‘08

Well, I had to come back and listen to this again, and I have to say this sounds so much better now that my ears have healed and calloused up a little.
Thank you for that very, very, very heart wrenching rendition of “Silent Night”…
Anyway, don’t know if I’ll be able to get online tomorrow to wish you a Merry Christmas, So I’ll say it today:
HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
Wish you the best Christmas Evah, and a happy New Year!!. (Hopefully you still have your black spandex handy…

ABC - It is a good thing that you are a much better writer than singer. You are bad, but extraordinarily funny. Thanks for all of the good times in 2007.

Dear Ms Barclay.
Thank you for your demo tape submission to American Idol. Sadly all of our casting calls are now full and we therefore have to reject your tape.
Whilst we are sure that you put a lot of personal effort into this recording we would like to remind you not to contact us again and should you re-attempt to gain access to our offices naked or wrapped in duct tape, you will be removed by security, police will be called and / or you will be tazed.
In fact our legal team has advised that we have authority to taze you on sight, especially if the security team have reason to believe you will attempt to sing in the building lobby.
We wish you all the luck, medication and alcohol that your body will allow and don’t forget to tune into the next season of American Idol.
With kind regards.
Paul

You sounded like one of the Pussycat Dolls, especially how you put an extra emphasis on the word “come”…
The only thing missing from that performance was you sliding down the garland covered stripper pole and inviting us guys to “jingle your bells” and “give you some yule log”…

Sweet Jesus.
I didn’t think it was possible to bleed from both ears simultaneously.
I guess I was wrong.
Merry Xmas AB12

I see you studied at the Roseanne Barr school of music.
Let me hear the Star Spangled Banner the way it’s supposed to be sung.

I think you sound like Paula Abdul in her prime 80’s years. Congrats on that.
December 27, 2007 at 4:13 am
Awesome! Thank you! Cheers in the new year!

Maybe I just have Ali G on the brain, but that part with you saying “how do we know if it was calm if no one was there. We’ve just got to trust” sounds like something he would say.
But besides that, your voice is hot. You actually remind me a lot of my Aunt which is kind of cool. But your voice kind of gave me wood, and then I started thinking of my Aunt, and then I just didn’t feel right. Damn…you evoke a lot of emotions out of me. Your blog is fucking powerful.

You know, it reminds me completely of that creepy old man from Family Guy that whistles when he talks and likes little boys. And honestly, I don’t like that old guy.
Um…..though you did have a good point about the ‘nobody was there’ thing…maybe…I guess?!
Haha. Hi-larious.
December 28, 2007 at 7:49 am
Hold on here, you’re totally lying!
That is Christina Aguilera. She just sang this to me 5 minutes ago…
